This stylish compass is based on the design of the gyroscope, which was given its name by the French physicist Léon Foucoult in the mid 19th century and used to demonstrate the earth's rotation on its axis.

Lovely Gift

My children bought this as a gift for my chap's birthday, and he loved it! It's a good heavy piece, and made of quality brass. He has it on his desk, and everyone comments on it.
